Helping Harvest Garden

Helping Harvest

Our Helping Harvest Garden is one of the community programs offered by our non-profit. It consists of twenty 100 ft. rows, an irrigation system and dedicated volunteers who grow fresh vegetables to help feed the needy among us. This garden was wonderfully managed for many years by Brian Bouts, a member of Wesley Way United Methodist Church and Director on the Board for Community Gardens of Henry. It annually yielded between 15,000 to 22,000 lbs. of vegetables…. more than 100,000 lbs. donated to our community under his leadership. Sadly, Brian passed away in 2019. His faithful service and dedication to this garden remains a beacon for our non-profit as we strive to maintain the donation garden in his honor.

This year’s spring garden is thriving with beautiful Silver Queen corn, zucchini, yellow squash, several varieties of peppers, and tomatoes. We are very proud of the work our devoted volunteers are doing and words cannot express our gratitude.

You are always welcome to visit the garden. If you would like to join our garden team by volunteering your time, please contact us at 770-954-0000 or email us at communitygardenshenrycounty@gmail.com.
